GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
PRIVATE EVENTS
updated June 2026
Article 1 – Purpose:
La Cuisine de Flore offers bespoke cookery classes for businesses or groups of individuals, hereinafter referred to as “Events”. These events include, but are not limited to, cookery workshops, culinary team-building sessions, demonstrations and other gastronomy-related activities. The various Event packages are presented on La Cuisine de Flore’s website: www.lacuisinedeflore.com.
The details of the event, including the venue, dates, times and price, are set out in an email following discussion with the client. Each quote is valid for 7 days from the date it is sent.
The client’s written acceptance (including by email) of the organisation of the Event implies their unreserved acceptance of these current general terms and conditions of sale, as set out on the La Cuisine de Flore website (www.lacuisinedeflore.com).
The customer warrants that they have the legal capacity to enter into a valid contract for the products and services offered by La Cuisine de Flore.
Article 2 – Booking the event:
Upon acceptance of the offer, the customer undertakes to confirm the booking of the Event in writing (in particular by email). No deposit will be required, regardless of the time between the confirmation and the date of the Event. The customer undertakes to comply with the terms of the booking and the payment terms specified in Article 3. Written confirmation of the Event constitutes the customer’s acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale in their entirety.
Article 3 – Rates and payment terms:
Prices for Events are quoted in euros excluding VAT. The total amount for the Event must be paid by the end of the month following the date of the Event at the latest, unless otherwise agreed in advance by the parties. Payment is generally made by bank transfer, following the issue of an invoice. Payment by credit card is also possible at the studio, although this option is not preferred.
Invoices may only be disputed within eight calendar days of their issue. Any delay in payment will automatically, and without prior notice, result in the application of interest at 10 per cent per annum, plus a fixed compensation of 50.00 euros, in accordance with the legal practices in force in Belgium.
In the event of late payment, an additional charge of 12.50 euros may be applied for sending a reminder by post. Late payment of an invoice also renders all other outstanding invoices immediately due and payable, even where payment terms may have been agreed.
Article 4 – Changes to the number of participants:
Once the client has accepted the offer, any change to the number of participants in the Event must be notified in writing to La Cuisine de Flore, and will be subject to the following conditions:
- If any change in the number of participants is notified no later than 10 calendar days
before the Event, the total price of the Event will be adjusted, either upwards or downwards, in accordance with the original quote, without penalty. - If the reduction in the number of participants is notified less than 10 calendar days before the Event, no price adjustment can be made.
- If a request to increase the number of participants is made less than 10 calendar days before the Event, it will be subject to approval by La Cuisine de Flore, depending on the availability of additional supplies. Additional participants will be charged at the individual rate specified in the original quote.
Article 5 – Check-in and check-out times:
The class takes place at the times agreed upon when the event was confirmed. The group is asked to arrive on time at the cookery workshop to make the most of the experience. In the event of a delay of more than 45 minutes, La Cuisine de Flore reserves the right to charge a penalty of €70 (excl. VAT) per hour of delay.
However, the arrival time may be adjusted depending on the workshop’s availability, provided that the change is notified no later than 24 hours before the start of the course.
To ensure the workshop runs to schedule, please vacate the premises no later than 4 hours after the scheduled start time for the cooking activities, or ensure you leave by the agreed finishing time.
Article 6 – Cancellation of the Event:
Any cancellation of the event by the client must be notified in writing to La Cuisine de Flore. Cancellation is subject to the following conditions:
- Cancellation more than 30 days before the date of the event: no charge will be made.
- Cancellation between 15 and 30 days before the date of the event: the client will be required to pay 25 per cent of the total cost of the event.
- Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before the date of the event: the customer will be required to pay 50 per cent of the total cost of the event.
- Cancellation between 3 and 6 days before the date of the event: the customer will be required to pay 75 per cent of the total cost of the event.
- Cancellation less than 3 days before the date of the event, or in the event of a no-show on the day of the event: the customer will be required to pay 100 per cent of the total cost of the event.
In the event of force majeure (natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.), La Cuisine de Flore agrees to reschedule the event at no extra cost to a later date, subject to availability, within six months of the originally scheduled date.
Article 7 – Liability:
La Cuisine de Flore reserves the right to cancel an Event in the event of force majeure. It shall not be held liable for any such cancellation. The customer acknowledges that the supply of products intended for cookery classes may be subject to unforeseen circumstances, particularly in the case of certain seasonal or speciality products. Consequently, La Cuisine de Flore reserves the right to make adjustments to a recipe proposed for an Event depending on the availability of ingredients. Where such adjustments do not fundamentally alter the recipe or its essence, they shall not entitle the customer to any refund, whether full or partial.
The customer undertakes to inform La Cuisine de Flore of any allergies, intolerances or dietary restrictions affecting participants prior to the Event. Despite every precaution being taken, as the activities take place in a shared kitchen, La Cuisine de Flore cannot guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination between the various ingredients used.
Participants shall take an active part in the activities on offer and undertake to comply with the health, safety and equipment usage guidelines provided during the Event. Each participant remains liable for any damage they may cause to third parties or to equipment through their own fault or by failing to follow the instructions given.
La Cuisine de Flore does everything in its power to ensure the safety of participants during the activities it organises. However, cooking activities involve the use of knives, sharp utensils, heat sources and kitchen equipment. Participants acknowledge that they are aware of the risks inherent in this type of activity.
La Cuisine de Flore cannot be held liable for any accidents or injuries resulting from normal participation in culinary activities or from failure to follow the instructions given, except in the event of negligence directly attributable to it.
La Cuisine de Flore cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate, incomplete or undisclosed information regarding participants’ health, allergies or dietary restrictions.
La Cuisine de Flore cannot be held liable for the loss, theft or damage to personal belongings brought by participants.
The customer acknowledges that, following the Event, any reproduction of a recipe created during the activity is carried out at their own risk. It is their responsibility to ensure that the preparation or consumption of any products they have purchased themselves does not pose any risk.
Finally, La Cuisine de Flore cannot be held liable for the results achieved by the customer or participants when they recreate a recipe presented during the Event. Recipes sent after the class may not include all the information provided during the session, but will contain the essential elements needed to recreate the recipes taught.
Article 8 – Ownership:
The recipes provided by La Cuisine de Flore, whether created during the Event and/or sent by email to the Event organiser after the Event, remain the exclusive property of La Cuisine de Flore. The reproduction, display or publication of these recipes is permitted solely for private or non-commercial use. It is essential to acknowledge the authorship of the recipes by clearly stating, on any medium used for dissemination or presentation, the phrase “recipe provided by La Cuisine de Flore” in a prominent and legible manner.
Article 9 – Confidentiality and personal data:
The information collected when booking a class is processed electronically to ensure the booking is properly managed. La Cuisine de Flore ensures that this data remains confidential and is not disclosed to any third party, unless the customer has given their express prior consent. This information may also be used by La Cuisine de Flore to send the customer future promotional offers or to inform them about products, services and upcoming events. If the customer does not wish their information to be retained or used for these purposes, they may request this in writing at any time.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), customers have the right to access, rectify, restrict the processing of, erase and transfer their personal data. To exercise these rights, they may send a written request to La Cuisine de Flore at the following address: info@lacuisinedeflore.com.
Personal data will be retained for a period of 5 years following the last interaction with the customer, unless a specific request is made for it to be deleted.
Article 10 – Applicable law and competent court:
These general terms and conditions of sale are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or enforcement shall fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels.
